What is the importance of pool insulation?

That is where pool insulation can contribute to this problem so that the temperature of the water is maintained and there is no heat loss. In this way you can save on energy costs because of the high performance.

Pool insulation

1.      Soil insulation

What is the best insulation for your swimming pool?

There are different types of poles. But the isolation can in principal be done in the same way. First of all, it is important that good soil insulation is installed. When placing a swimming pool in the ground, a concrete floor is poured.

After the concrete floor has been poured, it is recommended to coat this floor with an insulating coating that is resistant to chlorine. A good example of such a coating is the Logic DP which contains insulation materials.

This coating penetrates to a far point in the pores of the concrete and settles therein so that it becomes one with the concrete.

Logic DP really pulls IN the concrete and does not form a layer ON the concrete.

This is important for the lifespan of the Logic DP coating, which guarantees the quality of the concrete floor and retaining walls. In addition, the Logic DP coating is also resistant to water and chlorine (pool water), providing good insulation.

2.      Wall insulation

After the bottom of the pool has been insulated, it is important that the pool walls are treated.

An architectural swimming pool can be built with a concrete block and an assembly with building blocks, after which it is filled with concrete.

However, it is recommended to use the Logic UH mortar for masonry, because this mortar closes the most minimal openings in the concrete block and provides preventive protection against cracks.

After the Logic UH mortar is applicated, you can apply the masonry.

3.      Drain insulation

After the bottom and walls of the pool have been insulated, it is not unimportant to also look at the drains. The pool drains are exposed to chlorinated pool water on a certain rate and in regular basis. This can affect the pool concrete in the long term, after which even concrete rot will occur.

To prevent concrete rot it is recommended to apply the Logic UH mortar in the swimming pool drains, so that a watertight seal is created, and then to lay the masonry.

After the masonry has been completed, it is recommended to apply the Logic DS coating to the pool drains. The Logic DS has an insulating effect and is resistant to chlorinated water. This protects the concrete of the drains and prevents concrete rot.

After good pool insulation has been realized, you will enjoy your pool for a longer time.

I would like to add that it should not be forgotten to protect steel elements of your swimming pool against rust. The chlorinated pool water finds its way after which the steel is affected and rust will occur.

If there is already rust, this can easily be removed with the Logic Clean B cleaner. This is a cream that you apply to the sample and then cover with foil.

After 24 hours, remove the foil and the steel will be free of rust. Logic Clean B is self-operating and therefore does the work for you! The steel elements can then be coated with the Logic DP+ zinc coating.

This coating penetrates well into the pores of the steel and provides long-term protection against the ingress of (chlorine) water, preventing rust.
